Zoomin’, or Teaching a Nature Photography Webinar

Last week, I had the opportunity to give a Zoom webinar on nature photography. I was hesitant when my coworker first asked me to present it. I mean, who am I to give nature photography advice? At least, that’s what first crossed my mind.

Flash forward a month later to the webinar in question. My coworkers and friends who attended gave me great feedback, saying they learned a lot in just under an hour and that they appreciated my upbeat, passionate energy.

It appears I sometimes doubt myself. After hours of preparation–mostly sorting through my unorganized nature photos, taking a few demonstrative shots, and trying to figure out how to weave together all the information–I was reminded of how much I actually do know about photography.

The performance/being in front of crowd (even if it’s just people watching at home) aspect still made be nervous, but I appreciated the opportunity to dance along the edge of my abilities and comfort zone. I’ll be on the lookout for more public speaking or teaching opportunities in the future!

Also, if you’re looking to brush up on basic photography skills…may I recommend my webinar? 🙂
